Dear Mom,
I left France and immigrated to the United States. I left because I was curious about America. I left from a ship in Europe. I am now living in a city called Buffalo in New York. I made friends with a girl from Ireland her name is Fiona. She ran away from home to the United States. We share a room together as well.
I found a job as an office worker her in Buffalo. I make 17 dollars and 80 cents a week about 2 dollars and 53 cents a day. What I do as an office worker is I type and process things. We all sit at separate desks because they are so strict about talking.
Life here is better than in France because I have a good friend, a job that pays, and the government is better here as well. I like living here better because I have my own space even though it is shared but there is quite a bit of space. I like the food here and I have favorites but I am not sure that it is better than in France. I have my own clothes. I would like to get a dog in the future.
What is hard about being an immigrant is not knowing where to go to get to different places. My home is not crowded it is just me and Fiona. I like having my favorite food in the house. The rent isn’t very high because it is split between me and Fiona.
You should join me here mother it is beautiful. You could get a job and live with me I am sure Fiona wouldn’t mind. Everything is good for now. It would be better if you were here as well.
